European Kite Championships 2013
Organised by STACK Italia, the European Kite Championships 2013 took place in Cervia, April 26 & 27. It turned out to be a championship dominated by French flyers, taking four from six titles.
French pair Courant d'Air became European champions in the dual-line pair category, with Axel 'R from Italy second, and our very own Phoenix third. In the dual-line team competition, the podium was entirely French: Start'Air took gold, Cream Team silver, and Cerfs-Volants Folie bronze (Team Flame just missed the podium ...).
Polo Sky won the multi-line pair competition (as far as I'm aware, the first ever Russian title!) with the Italian team Buckets & Bears in 2nd place, and 2 Pro from France in 3rd. Quad 9 from France won multi-line team gold, STACK Italia took silver, and STACK UK (basically Team Flame, but under a different name) bronze.
For completeness, Julien Lahiyani from France took the dual-line individual title, and Guide Maiocchi from Italy snapped up the multi-line individual title.
Lots of photos of the event can be found here. If and when videos of the winning performances are posted, I'll update this post, but meanwhile congratulations to all!
